Augusta is on its way to becoming a major hub for cybersecurity in the United States, located at the center of a number of academic, governmental and corporate partnerships that are critical to enhancing the nation’s cyber security, including U.S. Army Cyber Command, the US Army Cyber Center of Excellence and the National Security Agency at Fort Gordon.

Augusta is pleased to have recently received an announcement, by Governor Nathan Deal, that the state of Georgia will invest $50 million for a world-class cyber range and training facility in Augusta. This 150,000 square foot facility will become the Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center, home to a new statewide effort to develop the workforce and infrastructure needed to protect our nation from cyberthreats.There are currently over 209,000 unfilled cybersecurity jobs and close to 5 million records breached in 2016.

Georgia’s Cyber Innovation and Training Center will bring together partners from education, government, and industry in a state-of-the-art environment. Collectively, this partnership will make a real difference in cybersecurity for Georgia and for our nation. The four primary functions of the Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center are Education and Training, Cyber Security and Protection, Economic Development, and Government and Infrastructure.
