April TTBB, 'Career Development: A valuable tool to recruit and retain an engaged workforce'

The next seminar in the Third Thursday Business Builder series will be held on Thursday, April 25, 11:30am at the Augusta Metro Chamber office. Join the Augusta Metro Chamber and Hull College of Business, Augusta University, with featured presenter Melissa Furman, to learn more about affordable and no cost career development strategies for recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce.

Participants attending this workshop will learn:

  • Career development needs across generations and work roles
  • Career development strategies and tools to assist with recruitment and retention
  • Developing strategies to use in recruitment, orientation, training and development
  • Creating a highly engaged and effective team, despite tight schedules and budgets

Melissa Furman serves as Assistant Dean for the James M. Hull College of Business at Augusta University, assisting with the strategic implementation of university and college goals. Ms. Furman serves as a visiting faculty member for multiple leadership development programs and has facilitated workshops for small to large audiences in corporate, non-profit and government organizations. She is the founder of Career Potential, LLC, a consulting firm that helps “individuals achieve and organizations succeed.” Ms. Furman was recognized as a Top 10 in 10 Young Professional to Watch by the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce, and nominated for Georgia Trend’s Top 40 Under 40.
