SunTrust Bank covers Security & Fraud at September TTBB

Join the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce and SunTrust Banks, Inc. for a presentation on Security and Fraud trends at Third Thursday Business Builder on September 21 at the Chamber office. Featured presenter Stuart Smith will provide an overview of security and fraud trends, as well as offer practical recommendations that small and medium sized companies can take to improve their security posture.

Mr. Smith of SunTrust's Enterprise Security and Resiliency department will discuss:

  • Key security terms of which business leaders should be aware
  • Various types of threat actors and their sophistication
  • Why threat actors are attacking companies
  • What you as a business leader can do about this

As Executive Security Advisor at SunTrust bank, Stuart Smith is responsible for providing strategic security consulting for the Wholesale line of business, as well as other areas within the bank. Stuart has over 17 years of professional experience in the Information Security field working for both the Department of Defense and the private sector. He spent 11 years in the United States Army, serving in duty station around the world. Prior to joining SunTrust in 2005, he worked as a contractor for the Army in an information assurance and intelligence role.

Stuart holds a Masters degree in Cyber Security, and both CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) and CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) certifications.
