Austin Carr - Director of Cybersecurity at Uniti Fiber

Austin Carr has been with Uniti since 2014 when he first started as a Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician. Since that time Austin has held positions as a Network Engineer, NOC Manager, NOC Director, Network Engineering Director, and Director of Network Assurance. He was recently promoted to Director of Cybersecurity.

Outside of Uniti Austin is a member of the National Guard where he is currently serving as a Major (O-4) in the Alabama Defensive Cyber Operations Element (DCOE) as Deputy Director. Austin is also working on his Ph.D. in Computing at the University of South Alabama where his emphasis is on Cybersecurity and the concept of “Moving Target Defense”. Austin correspondingly sits on the University of South Alabama School of Computing Advisory Board where he brings expertise to the school on areas of networking and telecommunications to the school’s leadership.
