Red Carpet August Showcase

Red Carpet Tour Augusta ShowcaseIn partnership with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Allies, local development authorities and many private sector partners, the Augusta Metro Chamber hosts the Red Carpet Tour and Augusta Showcase each year during the first week of April. This investment attraction program, geared towards existing and new business expansion, coincides with the Masters® Golf Tournament each year as an opportunity to host top executives from around the world. The Red Carpet Showcase committee is responsible for the annual development and execution of this week-long hospitality extraordinaire.

Quick Facts:

  • The Red Carpet Tour®, held every April, draws CEOs from all over the world for a four-day look at the state's thriving economic climate.
  • The tour, which centers around The Masters® Tournament, takes corporate guests to metro Atlanta, metro Augusta and one other region of the state each year.

  • Since 1959, tour guests have created approximately 15,000 jobs in Georgia while investing more than $3.2 billion in new or expanded operations.

  • The first Red Carpet Tour® occurred in December 1959 and was largely an aerial tour of the entire State of Georgia.

  • It was not until 1961 that The Masters® Tournament would take center stage.  An opportunity to attend the Tournament was extended for the first time that year. It is believed that Augusta’s Committee of 100, representing Augusta’s most prominent business leaders (and later merged with the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce), is the organization responsible for suggesting that tour guests visit the Tournament.
