Angie Cox Named Influential Leader by Georgia Trend

Augusta, GA (November 6, 2025) – Georgia Trend magazine has released its annual Georgia 500, a publication recognizing the state’s most influential leaders in business, government, education, and civic life. This year, Augusta Metro Chamber President & CEO Angie Cox has been named to the list.

The Augusta Metro Chamber serves more than 1,200 member businesses as the leading voice for economic vitality, workforce development, and business advocacy in the region. Since assuming leadership in 2024, Cox has navigated the organization through natural disasters, including a hurricane and two ice storms, while advancing key initiatives that strengthen Augusta’s business ecosystem.

Under her leadership, the Chamber has continued to champion successful programs such as:
  • FastTrack Boot Camp, launched in partnership with Augusta Technical College and First Step Staffing. This workforce initiative supports adult learners of color in earning industry-recognized credentials and gaining meaningful employment.
  • Students2Work, the region’s signature program that places high school juniors a
  • nd seniors in six-week paid internships with local employers, encouraging young talent to remain in the Augusta area.
  • Small Business Marketing Academy and Level-Up Business Academy, which empower entrepreneurs and established businesses with the tools and strategies to grow, expand, and innovate.

Cox, a Georgia Certified Chamber Executive (GCCE), joins a distinguished group of Augusta-area leaders recognized in this year’s Georgia 500. Notably, many of these honorees are current or past Chamber Board members, or represent companies actively engaged with the Chamber — a strong reflection of the leadership within our business community.
