Augusta Metro Chamber Executive Welcome Morning Mixer, November 20

The Augusta Metro Chamber is pleased to host an Executive Welcome Morning Mixer, sponsored by Jordan Trotter Commercial Real Estate, on Friday, November 20, 2020 to honor new executives in the community.  Each featured executive will be given an opportunity to introduce themselves and speak about their responsibilities and interests.  Following introductions, attendees will have the opportunity to network with these new executives and welcome them to the Greater Augusta region.  The mixer will be held at the Augusta Museum of History (560 Reynolds St. Augusta, GA 30901) from 8:00 am to 9:30 am.  Complimentary coffee will be provided by Buona Caffé Artisan Roasted Coffee.

 

Featured executives include Dr. Jermaine Whirl, President, Augusta Technical College; Colonel Shaw S. Pick, Garrison Commander, Fort Gordon Garrison Public Affairs Office; Odie Donald II, Administrator, City of Augusta; Petula Burks, Chief of Staff, Mayor's Office; and Naeem Jenkins-Nixon, Deputy Chief of Staff, Mayor's Office.

 

Dr. Whirl most recently served as VP for Learning & Workforce Development and VP for Economic Development & Corporate Training at Greenville Technical College.  Prior to this role, he served as Dean of the School of Business and School of Art & Design at Gwinnett Technical College and Executive Director/Dean of Adult Education at Savannah Technical College.  COL Shaw S. Pick is a native of Kirkland, WA.  He was commissioned as a Signal Corps Officer in 1997 and began his career as a Paratrooper at FT Bragg, NC.  COL Pick’s most recent assignment was as the CIO/G6, U.S. Army Special Operations Command.  His deployments include 4 tours in Iraq and 1 tour in Afghanistan. 

 

Odie Donald is a government administrator with more than fifteen years of executive level experience developing and executing municipal programming across multiple service delivery areas.  Prior to joining the City of Augusta, Donald served as City Manager of South Fulton, Georgia.  Petula Burks, the Mayor’s new Chief of Staff, is a native of Athens, GA.  She is an award-winning and skilled PR, Public Affairs, and Crisis Communication professional with over 20 years of experience in state and local government, helping to advance positive narratives, combat negative stereotypes, and proactively generate media.  Naeem Jenkins-Nixon is joining Mayor Hardie Davis, Jr.’s administration after serving as the political director for the Missouri Democratic Party.  Before that, he served as the communications manager for the Biden Institute.
