The Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the promotion of W. James Allen to Director of Member Engagement. James recently celebrated 5 years with the Chamber and “has been a constant face for our members and the community,” says Executive Vice President Angie Martin. “His attention to detail and hard work has made him stand out and has attributed to the overall success of the Chamber. In his new role, we know James will continue his exceptional service to our members and we expect him to excel in his new responsibilities.”

As Director of Member Engagement, James is responsible for developing and managing the Chamber’s internal member engagement programs designed to increase and retain membership. The ultimate goal is building and nurturing relationships with Chamber members and other partners and organizations within our community.  Not only will he continue his small business retention efforts ensuring members stay connected to the Chamber but will now lead the membership team and grow the Chamber’s upper-level investors. James will leverage his knowledge of member technology platforms to develop and execute new programs that support the Chamber and its members.

James Allen joined the Augusta Metro Chamber team five years ago as the Membership Growth Manager. He is currently working towards his Institute for Organization Management (IOM) designation, a professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and will graduate next year. Prior to joining the chamber team, James worked as the Community Business Development Manager for Barnes & Noble in Augusta, Georgia.
