Celebrating Small Business Week & Honoring Local Excellence
This week, we proudly join the nationwide celebration of National Small Business Week – a time to recognize the invaluable role small businesses play in our economy and our community. While the week officially kicked off on Monday, the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce is committed to supporting small businesses all year long.
From exclusive networking opportunities to advocacy, visibility, and education, the Chamber is dedicated to helping our small business members grow, connect, and lead. One key example is the Small Business Marketing Academy, which will kick back off in July – a unique program designed to equip local entrepreneurs with the tools and strategies they need to market and grow their businesses effectively.
We’re also thrilled to share a major milestone for one of Augusta’s own: Patrick Wells, president of Piedmont Landscape Management, has been named Georgia’s Small Business Person of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Patrick’s leadership, vision, and dedication to service have built a business that’s not only thriving but also deeply rooted in our community.
Patrick is no stranger to recognition – he was named a Top 10 in 10 Young Professional to Watch in 2021 and received the Chamber’s 2023 Entrepreneur Rising Star Best in Business award.
He will serve as keynote speaker at our Member Economic Luncheon on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at the Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center. Held in partnership with Augusta Magazine, this special event will also spotlight the 2025 Top 10 in 10 Young Professionals to Watch. The luncheon will take place from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at 2 10th Street, Augusta, GA. Register now to secure your seat for this celebration of leadership, entrepreneurship, and local impact.
