Chamber encourages Shop Small® with Social Media Campaign “Auggie on the Shelf"

Posted By: Kathryn Freemon News Releases,

During the month of November and culminating on November 24, Small Business Saturday®, the Augusta Metro Chamber is encouraging the Augusta region to get up, get out and shop small by participating in a Shop Small® Social Media Campaign “Auggie on the Shelf”. The campaign is in partnership with the Augusta GreenJackets and local small business retailers.

From November 1 through 24, shoppers will stop in participating small business locations to find “Auggie on the Shelf,” post their photo in the store with the mascot doll and tag #AuggieShopsSmall. Each post equals an entry into the Grand Prize drawing – the more shopping, the more entries! By shopping on November 24, Small Business Saturday®, participant’s entries are doubled. Two lucky shoppers will receive an Augusta Loves Small Business Prize Package (each valued at over $500).

Participating businesses include: Augusta GreenJackets Hive Pro Shop at SRP Park, Buona Caffe - Artisan Roasted Coffee, Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio, Fireside Kitchens & Grills, Blue Ribbon Awards & Gifts, The Southern Salad, The Swank Company, Posh Tots Children's Boutique, Decorator’s Outlet & Interiors, Mastermind Escape Games, Hildebrandt’s, Greubel's Mixed Martial Arts, Phone Wizz, Peaceful Warrior Apothecary, The Pie Hole, Sweet Moments Café, Davis Appliance & Furniture, Ladybug’s Flowers & Gifts, Poppin’ Stop and Sweet Charlie’s Hand Rolled Ice Cream.

In an effort to support local shops that make our communities strong, American Express launched Small Business Saturday® on the Saturday after Thanksgiving - to encourage people to Shop Small® and bring more holiday shopping to small businesses. Small Business Saturday® continues to be an annual holiday shopping tradition - just one part of the larger Shop Small® Movement to support small businesses every day and everywhere.
